About The Joinery Collective
How we work together matters — and most gatherings, strategy sessions, and organizational processes leave too much on the table.
The Joinery Collective works with mission-driven organizations that are navigating growth, transformation, or uncertainty — helping them design the strategies, structures, and spaces where people can do their best work and create lasting impact. Our approach is rooted in the belief that powerful convenings and good process aren’t luxuries. They’re what makes good outcomes possible.
About the Founder
Samantha McCann founded The Joinery Collective after more than 15 years designing and leading complex programs, convenings, and organizational strategies across journalism, social change, and public-interest sectors.
She has designed and facilitated gatherings of every kind — from intimate leadership retreats to large-scale international conferences — for organizations navigating growth, transformation, and change. She is the creator of the Solutions Journalism Summit (2017–2022), a sold-out global unconference that convened practitioners from around the world.
Samantha has served as Chief Operating Officer for the Solutions Journalism Network and Princeton University's Bridging Divides Initiative, leading organizational strategy and programming, operational and financial stewardship, and cross-program alignment through periods of rapid scale and crisis. She lectures at Columbia University's School of International and Public Affairs, teaching graduate students organizational strategy and leadership.
